Daniel Sturridge says he and Danny Welbeck can fire England to glory at Euro 2016 after their goalscoring returns from injury.
The Liverpool striker scored the first and played for more than an hour as Jurgen Klopp's side thrashed Aston Villa 6-0 on Super Sunday.
It came just after Welbeck had re-ignited Arsenal's title challenge with a last minute winner in the 2-1 triumph over Leicester at the Emirates.
Sturridge was making his first Premier League start under Klopp, who took over in October last year, while Welbeck had been sidelined for 10 months after undergoing knee surgery.
However, Sturridge reckons he and Welbeck can fire their country to glory if England boss Roy Hodgson decides to include the pair in his squad for France.
"Hopefully we will be there in the summer and we can help the country have some success," Sturridge said.
"It's great to score but it's more important that the team wins the game."
