Greg Kiltie has rejected a new contract offer from Kilmarnock but is relaxed about on-going discussions with the Ayrshire outfit.

The 18-year-old's current deal ends in January and he is free to talk with other clubs.

However, at the moment the Scotland under-19 wide-man is focusing only on playing for Killie while talks continue.

Kiltie said: "I have been offered a deal but I rejected it so we will see where it goes from here. We are in discussions at the moment.

"I haven't been thinking about it. I have been concentrating on playing and hopefully I can do my best on the pitch."

Boss Gary Locke is hoping to add to his Kilmarnock squad before the trip to Dundee United on Saturday.

Killie are bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership table with two points from six games and Locke spent the international break working his players hard towards a resurgence.

Scott Robinson and Dale Carrick are making their way back from hamstring injuries but the Rugby Park boss will bolster his squad further with a free agent if possible.

He said: "Robinson and Carrick might not be back for Saturday but they are back training. I am still hoping to add a player if I can before the weekend. If I can do that, great. If we can't, we can go with what we have available.

"Getting a few players back creates competition for places and strength in depth and when you have that, you tend to find players play a bit better.

"But I believe in the players that are here. Unfortunately, so far this season, we haven't played to our potential and we are well aware we have to do that.

"We have a really tough game on Saturday but if we play the way I know we can play, we are capable of getting three points."
