Leicester are in talks to sign left-back Yuto Nagatomo from Inter Milan for £3m, according to Sky sources.
Leicester boss Claudio Ranieiri knows the Japan international well from his time as Inter boss.
Nagamoto is understood to have undergone a medical at Inter's Serie A rivals Genoa – but the Foxes have trumped their bid.
The 28-year-old joined Cesena on loan from FC Toyko in the 2010-11 season, before moving to Milan, becoming Inter's first Asian player.
He has played in 81 international matches for Japan, scoring three goals.
