Sky Sports understands Crewe are poised to sign Canada international Marcus Haber on a free transfer.
Haber is a free agent after leaving Stevenage at the end of last season.
Crewe have now moved in and agreed a deal to take the 25-year-old to Gresty Road as Steve Davis looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
Haber is expected to sign a two-year deal at Gresty Road to become their latest signing of the summer.
He first arrived in the UK in 2010 when he joined West Brom from Vancouver Whitecaps and has also enjoyed spells at Exeter, St Johnstone and Notts County.
