Defender seals move to Rayo Vallecano

Rodri has joined Rayo Vallecano after leaving Spartak Moscow on a free transfer to return to his homeland . A product of Barcelona's youth system, he made just five appearances at first-team level before joining Deportivo La Coruna in 2006. But the defender was repeatedly sent out on loan during his time at the Riazor, enjoying just two outings for his parent club between spells at Almería, Poli Ejido, Maritimo and Salamanca. The most settled time of his career came in 2009 when he signed for Hercules, making 51 appearances in two years before moving to Moscow for £350,000 last summer. But the 28-year-old is now heading back to Spain to join the Madrid-based side who finished 15th in La Liga last season. The former Spain U21 international has signed a two-year contract at the Vallecas.
