Auxerre defender Adama Coulibaly is set to be sidelined for the rest of 2011 after breaking his foot against Caen. Auxerre lost 2-1 to Caen in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday night and a miserable evening was compounded by the injury to Coulibaly The 31-year-old from Mali underwent tests to determine the severity of the problem, and it was discovered he sustained a double break of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. A statement on Auxerre's official website said Coulibaly would be absent 'for a duration of around eight weeks'. He has been a regular at the heart of the Auxerre defence since joining from Lens in 2008, and has started eight Ligue 1 matches this season. Coulibaly now faces a race to be fit for Auxerre's final game of the year against Dijon on 21st December, and is more likely to be targeting a comeback in the first match after the winter break on 14th January.
