Reported Newcastle United target Cheick Diabate has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension at Bordeaux.
The 23-year-old was thought to have caught the eye of the Premier League side after a string of strong performances in Ligue 1 this term.
The Mali-born striker impressed in the club's youth team before being farmed out to AC Ajaccio and Nancy on loan in a bid to gain playing time.
Now fully-installed with the first team, the French side have moved quickly to ensure the promising striker is tied up to a long-term deal.
The news comes hot on the heels of a similar extension for goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso as FCGB move to sure up the future of a number of players.
A club statement read: "FC Girondins de Bordeaux are pleased to announce the contract extension of Cheick Diabate.
"The Mali international has signed for two more seasons. He is now under contract until 2015 with our club."
