Sissoko and Pentecote pick up knocks

Toulouse are reeling from the news that Moussa Sissoko and Xavier Pentecote have suffered untimely injuries. France international midfielder Sissoko is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines with a groin problem. Pentecote, meanwhile, could be out of action for up to six months after sustaining a knee injury. Sissoko, who played in France's friendly defeat against Norway last week, will now miss the start of European Championship qualification and important fixtures in Ligue 1.

Vital

With Toulouse looking to maintain the early pace they have set, taking maximum points from their opening two fixtures, the last thing they needed was to lose key personnel. Pentecote may not have fallen into that category a few weeks ago, but he had become vitally important of late. With Andre-Pierre Gignac also nursing a knock, Toulouse have been left short on attacking options. Pentecote, who has been linked with Blackburn of late, was recalled from a loan spell at second vision Bastia to provide cover, but he too has been laid low.
