Former Newcastle winger Keith Gillespie has linked up with Notts County for a trial period.
The 35-year-old played 15 minutes of the goalless pre-season friendly against Stoke at Meadow Lane on Thursday night.
He is just working on his fitness at the moment and Magpies manager Craig Short says it is too early to discuss a deal.
"He wants to come and get fit and we haven't got cover on the right, so we will see how it goes," said Short.
Gillespie, who started his career with Manchester United, has been looking for a new club since leaving Glentoran earlier in the summer.
