Striker joins Turkish giants

Chelsea have confirmed that Miroslav Stoch has left the club and joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce. The Blues have revealed that the Slovakian striker is to leave for an undisclosed fee and has agreed a four-year contract with his new employers. Stoch becomes the latest departure at Stamford Bridge in a summer clear-out, with Chelsea looking to tweak their squad. Joe Cole, Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack will all be allowed to leave when their contracts expire, paving the way for new recruits. Stoch can now be added to that list, bringing to an end a four-year association with the Blues. He joined as a 16-year-old back in 2006, penning professional terms a year later.

Debut

He was the youth team's top scorer in 2006/07 and was an ever present the following season as Chelsea reached the FA Youth Cup final. In 2008/09 he made his senior debut for Chelsea and the Slovakia national side. Opportunities at club level proved limited, though, and he was loaned to FC Twente for the 2009/10 campaign, where he helped Steve McClaren's side land the Eredivisie title. The 20-year-old is currently away on international duty at the World Cup, where he will be hoping to shine, but knows he will have a fresh challenge awaiting him once Slovakia's endeavours come to a close. "We would like to thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his future career," said a Chelsea spokesman.
