Ligue 1 outfit keen on Malian defender
Ligue 1 new boys Boulogne are hoping to sign Bakary Soumare from MLS outfit Chicago Fire.
The Mali international spent a brief period in France during his childhood, before moving to the States as a teenager.
He has been part of the first-team set-up in Chicago for the last two years, helping him to force his way into the international arena.
Soumare has now begun to attract interest from abroad, with Boulogne sporting director Bruno Dupuis admitting his side are keen to bring the 23-year-old back to Europe.
"I can confirm that we want the player," he told L'Equipe.
"We hope an agreement can be reached with the American league, but for now we must wait.
"Hopefully the case will be sorted out by Sunday."
Reports suggest Boulogne will be forced to pay out around €1.5million (£1.3m) in order to secure Soumare's services.
