Trejo open to Baggies switch

Agent says striker is keen to hold talks with West Brom

Oscar Trejo's agent has claimed the Real Mallorca striker is 'very interested' in holding talks with West Bromwich Albion over a possible move. The Baggies failed to come to an agreement with the Spanish club in the summer but manager Tony Mowbray has since indicated he may reignite his interest. Mowbray is thought to be keen to add firepower to his side after Albion netted just 11 goals in their opening 15 league games of the season. "There is a possibility to move Trejo but we need to think carefully about it and find out exactly what West Bromwich want to do," Trejo's agent Martan Paledes said in the Express & Star.

Interested

"We are waiting for a meeting with West Bromwich and we will see what they want. Mallorca want the player and West Bromwich want him, so we will have to try to help both and help the player. "We are very interested in taking him to the Premier League and to West Bromwich. They are a very friendly club with us and have very nice people. We have good relations and we will try to help them." Mowbray added in the Birmingham Mail: "Initially they [Real Mallorca] were asking for €5million (£4.3m). "From the conversations we had, I think it's unlikely that Mallorca would let Trejo go out on loan.
Impact
"If they did, while I wouldn't sit here and say we would definitely do it, it's something we would have to consider. "He hasn't played a lot of football for Mallorca this year and we need players who can come in and make an impact. "If he is available I am not envisaging he will score the 10 or 15 goals we need from somebody. He is a link player who has got a lot to learn so I wouldn't get too excited."
