Team-mate wants winger to stay at Valencia

Alexis is confident Joaquin is happy at Valencia amid reports Blackburn Rovers have made an offer for the winger. Joaquin has been strongly linked with a move to Ewood Park as Rovers boss Paul Ince searches for a replacement for David Bentley. Reports in Spain have claimed that the Premier League club have lodged a bid in the region of 12million euros (£9.5million) for the 27-year-old. Valencia's vice-president Fernando Gomez is tipped to meet Joaquin's agent on Tuesday to discuss the offer from Blackburn. However, Joaquin's team-mate Alexis believes that the former Real Betis star, who was left out of Spain's Euro 2008 squad, is not looking to leave the Mestalla.

Cheerful

"In the dressing room he is always the same - cheerful," said Alexis in AS. "I do not think we have any problems. "He does not want to go, he is very happy in Valencia and I would not want him to leave because to have a person like him in the dressing room is a joy. "I get along very well with him."
