Middlesbrough's Marten De Roon was given a lift to his car in Darlington by some of the club's supporters.
The Dutchman was in a queue for a taxi back to his car, which was parked three miles from the station, when he was offered a ride by the fans who had been on the same train.
De Roon had been held back in London because of a dope test following the 1-1 draw with West Ham on Saturday, meaning he missed the train the rest of the squad had travelled on, taking the next train north instead.
However, on his arrival on Teesside, he was spared the expense of a taxi for the final leg of his journey by the generous fans in their minibus.
