QPR forward Jamie Mackie has suffered another setback after being ruled out of the first three months of the new season due to an ankle injury.
Mackie, 30, sustained ankle ligament damage in training while working his way back from a hamstring operation he had at the end of last season.
"It is hugely disappointing news for Jamie, and for us," QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told the club's official website.
"He has worked incredibly hard over the summer to give himself the best chance of being fit as soon as possible, so I really feel for him.
"We all know how determined an individual Jamie is and we look forward to having him fit and available for selection."
Mackie, who returned for his second spell at Loftus Road in the summer of 2015 following his release from Nottingham Forest, scored one goal in 16 appearances for Rangers last season.
