Portsmouth have completed the signing of striker Michael Smith from Swindon on a permanent basis.

Smith, 24, who scored four goals in 16 appearances while on loan at Pompey at the end of last season, has put pen to paper on an undisclosed deal.

"After my last appearance at Hartlepool I knew the gaffer was going to try to get something sorted," Smith told the club's official website.

"Pompey was always going to be the option for me and I'm delighted that the deal has been sorted."

Smith began his career at Darlington and after three years at Charlton - he made only one appearance - was signed by Swindon for an undisclosed fee in January 2014.
