Carlisle have signed midfielder Mike Jones on a two-year deal, subject to paperwork.
Jones, 28, released by Oldham at the end of last season, is the Cumbrians' sixth summer signing.
"Mike is someone we were interested in back in January," Carlisle's head of recruitment Lee Dykes told the club's official website.
"He's a very good, experienced player and he's someone I've worked with previously. We know what we're getting, he knows the game and he knows how to win matches."
Jones progressed through hometown club Tranmere's youth system and made only a handful of first-team appearances before moving on to Bury in the summer of 2008.
He made over 150 appearances for the Shakers and had spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Crawley before joining Oldham in June 2014.
