Newcastle's Vurnon Anita says Rafa Benitez has organised the team well, but hasn't changed anything fundamentally since taking over

Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita has welcomed the positive effect Rafa Benitez has had on the team.

The Magpies failed to win in Benitez's first four games in charge but boosted their hopes of survival with a 3-0 defeat of Swansea City and a 1-1 draw with Manchester City in their last two matches at St James' Park.

They now head to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday, sitting just two points behind 17th-placed Norwich City, and Anita has praised Benitez as the Spanish manager prepares to take on his former club.

The Dutchman said: "We are well organised, he has been very clear to everybody. You see it in the last two games that it came out great.

"Everybody knows he has been at big clubs so he knows what he is talking about.

"But it is up to the players to show it on the pitch of course, and we did."

Benitez appears positive and forthright in his press conferences and Anita revealed he adopts the same approach in the dressing room.

"He's quite similar, he's very positive," said Anita. "He's very clear as well that we need to win games to get out of the relegation zone."
