Leicester are in talks with Sampdoria over the signing of striker Eder, according to Sky in Italy.
Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri admitted last week he was interested in signing a new forward before the transfer deadline and Eder is one of a number of targets.
It is understood Sampdoria want a fee of around £10m for the 29-year-old Italy international, who was born in Brazil.
And a three-year contract worth around £29,000-per-week is thought to have been offered to the player.
Eder has scored 40 Serie A goals since joining Sampdoria in 2012 from Empoli. He previously spent time on loan at Brescia and Cesena, and has eight caps and two goals for Italy.
Earlier on Monday, Sky sources said Leicester are not interested in taking Loic Remy on loan from Chelsea, having allowed Andrej Kramaric to move to Hoffenheim for the rest of the season.
