Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman is closing in on a return to Swansea City, according to Sky sources.
The 28-year-old spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 campaigns on loan at Swansea before completing a permanent move from Villarreal to Napoli in August 2014.
De Guzman, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract with the Serie A club, is currently recovering from minor groin surgery.
The nature of the deal to bring De Guzman back to the Liberty Stadium is not yet known.
Swansea manager Alan Curtis is keen to bolster his squad after allowing midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to join Newcastle on Wednesday for a fee Sky sources understand to be in the region of £12m.
During his first spell with Swansea, De Guzman made 95 appearances and scored 16 times, playing a major role in the 2013 League Cup winning team.
De Guzman scored twice in the 5-0 final victory over Bradford City at Wembley to help Swansea win the first major trophy in their history.
