Martin Braithwaite's fifth goal of the season was enough to secure a point for Toulouse in a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Lyon. The Denmark international's late strike cancelled out Alexandre Lacazette's first-half opener and ensured La Tefece took a point from the Stade Gerland for the first time since 2006. A fourth consecutive Ligue 1 game without a win for Remi Garde's men leaves them some distance off the pace with a trip to in-form Bastia their next assignment. Lyon began the game well and Clement Grenier went close on the 10 minute mark after the 22-year-old cut in dangerously from the right, only to find the side-netting with a rasping left-footed drive. Undeterred by some early Les Gones pressure, though, Toulouse offered an almost instant response but Issiaga Sylla's delivery was just too long for Wissam Ben Yedder to poke home. Gueida Fofana threatened to break the deadlock for the hosts with 20 minutes played, only to shoot straight at Ali Ahamada from the edge of the area, but Lacazette went one better just five minutes later. The France Under-21 international showed good strength to dispossess Clement Chantome 20 yards out before switching the ball onto his trusty left foot and dispatching a clinical shot into the bottom corner, much to the delight of the Stade Gerland. La Tefece showed signs of a comeback before the break and only some last ditch defending from a Pavel Ninkov free-kick prevented Abel Aguilar getting a clear sight of goal from six yards as Lyon settled for a one-goal lead at the interval. With both sides remaining unchanged for the start of the second-half, Lyon went looking for a second goal early on and Lacazette went close with a powerful effort from inside the area but the diving Ahamada showed safe hands on the edge of his six-yard box. Remi Garde opted to throw on Yoann Gourcuff as the visitors continued to limit his side to few opportunities with some resolute defending. Steed Malbranque blazed over from outside the area with less than 20 minutes left to play as Lyon's attempts to kill off the game continued but the former Fulham man was forced off moments later after taking a nasty-looking kick to his calf from Oscar Trejo. Alain Casanova brought on Eden Ben Basat with less than 20 minutes to go and that move almost paid off straight away when the Israel international did superbly to get past three Lyon defenders only to shoot straight at Vercoutre from 14 yards in what was Toulouse's best chance of the game so far. Disaster struck though for Lyon with eight minutes left after their defence failed to deal with an Aymen Abdennour shot from distance and Braithwaite pounced to loop the ball over Vercoutre with the aid of a Milan Bisevac deflection.
