Hervin Ongenda scored his first Ligue 1 goal as Paris Saint Germain made it eight successive league wins with a 2-1 victory at Lorient.

Blaise Matuidi added to the Paris-born striker's 25th-minute effort with a well-taken goal to ensure maximum points for the reigning French champions, who are again this season's clear leaders.

Benjamin Moukandjo's 10th goal of the season late on ensured a nervy finish for the visitors, but Laurent Blanc's side held on to extend their unbeaten start this season to 14 games.

The occasion began with a minute's silence to remember the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Lorient were then the first to work the opposition goalkeeper, but Raphael Guerreiro's powerful drive was straight at Kevin Trapp before the German was forced to turn Benjamin Jeannot's awkward 25-yard effort away for a corner.

Then Gregory van der Wiel broke free on the right and the Dutchman's delivery found 20-year-old Ongenda who confidently slid the ball between Benjamin Lecomte's legs to open the scoring.

Having dominated much of the ball early on, Laurent Blanc's side did not have to wait long to double their lead in what was proving to be a comfortable start to the champions' evening.

Ongenda was involved again, picking out Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the Sweden skipper's cross found Matuidi who rounded off a simple PSG move with a first-time finish.

Head coach Blanc was forced into a half-time change after Presnel Kimpembe was forced off with an injury, and Lorient almost pulled one back soon after when Guerreiro flashed an effort just inches wide following good work from Maxime Barthelme.

Moments later, Lamine Gassama might have put through his own goal with a header but for some excellent alert keeping from Lecomte.

With the visitors seemingly happy to sit back, and Lorient struggling to create anything of note, the second half looked like it would drift towards its conclusion.

However, with less than 10 minutes to play, Lorient struck to make it a nervy finish at the Stade du Moustoir.

Romain Philippoteaux was the creator and his perfect delivery found Moukandjo who headed beyond Trapp to move top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

Lorient continued to press late on, but it was Ibrahimovic who went closest to a fourth goal of the game, with Lecomte doing well to keep out the Swede's effort as PSG held on for all three points.
