Leeds took a deserved 13th-minute lead when Stuart Dallas' cross came back off a post and Saiz smashed home the rebound.
Saiz and Klich were prominent as Leeds bossed the opening half an hour, but with nothing else to show for their promising build-up the home side were made to pay in the 37th minute.
Tonge stole in after Gavin Gunning's long throw-in had been flicked on in the penalty area and fired home the equaliser from six yards.
Leeds continued to dominate possession in the second period but had to be patient before finding the decisive breakthrough in the 61st minute.
Following more neat approach play, Ronaldo Vieira slid the ball through into the area for Saiz, who skipped round Port Vale's substitute goalkeeper Sam Hornby and deftly finished.
Two minutes later Saiz completed his hat-trick, ramming home an emphatic finish after being set-up by Ekuban, who then steered in Leeds' fourth in the 83rd minute after Ezgjan Alioski's brilliant counter-attack.
Vale defender Gunning was sent off in the closing stages after his cynical foul on Alioski earned him a second yellow card.
