Whites suffer first-ever Cup exit to non-league opposition
Histon have sensationally progressed to the third round of the FA Cup after dumping out Leeds United 1-0 thanks to Matthew Langston's header.
Leeds have been poor on their travels of late, although it looked it may prove a comfortable afternoon for The Whites when Alan Sheehan sent a clever chip just over in the opening minutes.
However, it proved a false dawn as Histon worked harder than their more illustrious opponents and looked far more threatening in the final third while Leeds rarely troubled Danny Naisbitt's goal.
The home side unthinkably forged ahead six minutes before half-time when Langston was perfectly placed in the middle to nod home Gareth Gwillim's inswinging corner.
When Leeds did wake up with an hour played they were unlucky not to equalise when Lubomir Michalik's well-struck shot struck Naisbitt's right-hand upright on its way to safety.
Gary McAllister's side threw everything at the non-leaguers in the closing stages, but Michalik's drive that was superbly cleared off the line by substitute Antonio Murray was the closest they came to securing a replay.
