Colin Daniel inspired a dramatic second-half rally as Port Vale came from behind to win 2-1 at Fleetwood.
The hosts edged a scrappy opening 45 minutes, grabbing the lead through a fine piece of individual skill from Bobby Grant.
The former Blackpool midfielder beat two men inside the box before driving a shot low into the far corner just before the quarter hour.
Fleetwood could have been further ahead at the break, on-loan Rotherham defender Richard Wood having two shots cleared off the line, both from corners, and David Ball heading against the woodwork in the eighth minute of added time - a dislocated shoulder for Ryan Innis causing a lengthy delay.
He was replaced by Remie Streete, the visitors making a further change after the interval with Daniel coming on for Uche Ikpeazu.
And the alteration paid off for the Valiants. A long-range drive from Daniel hauled the visitors level 10 minutes into the second half.
Then, with Town battling to regain the lead, the forward was tripped by Victor Nirennold inside the Fleetwood box, Sam Foley converting from the spot.
Jamie Proctor nearly snatched a point for the hosts, his close-range header scooped off the line by Jak Alnwick.
Substitute Declan McManus could have levelled with virtually the last kick, getting beyond Alnwick but unable to get his shot through a crowded box.
