Fleetwood 0-0 Bristol Rovers: Visitors seal League One safety with stalemate
Saturday 27 April 2019 20:13, UK
Bristol Rovers secured their League One survival with a 0-0 draw against Fleetwood at Highbury.
Rovers goalkeeper Jack Bonham was called into action early, keeping out Ashley Hunter's low drive and then Ched Evans' close-range rebound.
Fleetwood stopper Alex Cairns later beat away Liam Sercombe's powerful strike from the right-side of the penalty area.
Evans then looped his free header wide from Ross Wallace's cross from the right for the hosts as the first half finished goalless.
After the break, the swirling winds on the Fylde Coast made play difficult, with Hunter seeing his dipping attempt from 20 yards go just over the crossbar.

Graham Coughlan's visitors came just as close with 15 minutes remaining when Ollie Clarke's left-footed shot from range struck Cairns' left-hand post.
