Espanyol twice threw away the lead but recovered to beat Las Palmas 4-3 in a thrilling La Liga encounter on Friday night.
Mauricio Lemos equalised on two occasions for the visitors following David Lopez first-minute opener and Gerard Moreno's strike just before half-time.
Espanyol then went two clear as Pablo Piatti converted from the penalty spot and Jose Manuel Jurado found the bottom corner in the 74th minute.
Las Palmas got one back through Mateo Garcia, but failed to find an equaliser, meaning the visitors stay in 12th - three points ahead of Valencia who have a game in hand.
Victory for Espanyol meanwhile leaves them with an outside chance of clinching a Europa League spot, but the ninth-placed club remain six points adrift of Villarreal in sixth, the last spot available to qualify for the European competition next season.
