Crawley 3-0 Crewe: Town cruise to victory
Saturday 24 November 2018 18:51, UK
Crawley clinched their first win in eight matches with a 3-0 home victory over Crewe in League Two.
Josh Payne's first-half penalty was added to by late goals from Joe McNerney and Dannie Bulman to secure the Reds a first win in any competition in over a month.
The scoreline was harsh on the visitors, who created numerous chances but found Crawley goalkeeper Glenn Morris in inspired form.
Morris kept out a goalbound shot from Shaun Miller before the hosts took the lead with a 14th-minute penalty.
Midfielder Payne calmly stroked home the spot kick after keeper Ben Garratt brought down Dominic Poleon.

Morris pulled off a string of superb saves as Crewe dominated for the rest of the half.
He kept out a shot from Jordan Bowery before denying Ryan Wintle in a one-on-one situation.
The Crawley keeper later blocked an effort from Charlie Kirk and then parried a shot by James Jones.
Crewe continued to dominate after the break and Morris came out to thwart Miller on the edge of the area.
The Reds increased their lead nine minutes from time when defender McNerney rose unchallenged to head home following a cross by Joe Maguire.
Veteran midfielder Bulman added a third in the last minute of stoppage time by tapping in a cross from substitute Lewis Young.
