Cheltenham v Bristol R preview

Image: Jombati: Expected to shrug off a knock

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers at Whaddon Road.

Cheltenham expect to have Sido Jombati available for the weekend tie. The right-back disappeared down the tunnel for treatment after being replaced during the 4-0 victory over Wycombe but it was understood to be a precautionary move and boss Mark Yeates expects him to continue in the side. The Robins boss has no other injury worries as his side look to consolidate their place in top three with a victory against bottom side Rovers. Striker Kaid Mohamed returned from an ankle injury on Boxing Day as a second-half substitute and is expected to be named on the bench once again. Jeff Goulding and Darryl Duffy are expected to continue in attack after both netted in the win against Wycombe after replacing Shaun Harrad and Chris Zebroski from the 4-1 defeat to Rochdale. Bristol Rovers are expected to be without Jim Paterson and David Clarkson. John Ward's first game in charge saw Rovers come from behind twice to draw at Aldershot, ending a run of three straight defeats that led to the sacking of Mark McGhee. But the point was soured with the loss of midfielder Paterson and forward Clarkson to injury. Paterson lasted just 18 minutes before going off with a hamstring problem while Clarkson took a knock to the ankle in the second half. It comes as a further blow to Ward who is already without injured quartet Matt Gill, Adam Virgo (both knee), Matt Harrold (cruciate ligament) and Scott Bevan (wrist). To make matters worse, Cian Bolger, Tom Eaves, Matthew Lund and Sam Walker's loan deals expire in January.
