Burnley v Tottenham preview: Heung-Min Son back in time to face Clarets

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli in action against Burnley

Heung-Min Son played 90 minutes for South Korea against Syria in Seoul on Tuesday but will be back in time to face on Saturday.

With Harry Kane on the sidelines and Vincent Janssen struggling for fitness, Son is likely lead the line at Turf Moor.

The hosts will fancy their chances of success against a Spurs side who have won just four times on the road all season.

No side in Premier League history has won a higher proportion of their games (83%) or total points (78%) at home than Sean Dyche's men. Of Burnley's 24 Premier League wins, 20 have come at Turf Moor.

Spurs still habour faint hopes of mounting a late title tilt, but with the gap to Chelsea an imposing ten points, Mauricio Pochettino will realistically be aiming for a second-placed finish at best.

With 32 points at this juncture, Burnley look to be safe from relegation, but know that a run of defeats could see them be dragged into a survival battle late in the season.

    Team news

Burnley are still waiting on Johann Berg Gudmundsson's return to fitness but Steven Defour may make the bench.

    Opta stats

Burnley have won just one of their five previous Premier League games against Tottenham (W1 D1 L3), back in May 2010 when Brian Laws' already-relegated side won 4-2.

Spurs have scored at least two goals in four of their five previous Premier League matches against the Clarets, but failed to score in their last visit to Turf Moor in April 2015.

Ashley Barnes has scored in two of his previous three league games against Tottenham, but both have been in White Hart Lane defeats for Burnley.

Dele Alli has been involved in 10 goals in 10 Premier League appearances for Tottenham Hotspur in 2017 so far (eight goals, two assists).

Christian Eriksen has assisted 23 goals in the Premier League since the start of 2015-16; no player has more (Ozil also has 23). Eriksen has had a hand in 10 goals in his last six appearances for Spurs in all competitions (three goals, seven assists).

Vincent Janssen has appeared 20 times in the Premier League for Spurs this season, but has only been given 626 minutes of playing time - 31 minutes per game on average.

Burnley haven't scored a goal in any of their last five Premier League games played in the month of April.

    Merson's prediction

This will be interesting; Burnley are great at home, and with no Harry Kane it will be a difficult game for Spurs. They give everyone a good game at Turf Moor.

What Burnley have done is fantastic. Games at Turf Moor start out relatively open and you think the chances will come for the visiting side, but Sean Dyche's side always seem to squeeze the game eventually and the points just keep rolling in. Just think, if they had got one or two away wins this season they would be in the top half.

Spurs need to keep winning to secure a top-four spot. It's still a hugely important last 10 games for them, and nothing is safe.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2, 7/1 with Sky Bet

    Betting

The Clarets will attempt to make it 12 victories at Turf Moor in all competitions this season but are 9/2 outsiders with Sky Bet for another three points - it will be their first game at home since losing 1-0 to Lincoln in the FA Cup.

The visitors have won their last four fixtures since crashing out of Europe and are 8/13 for another success to maintain second place behind Chelsea with a draw trading at 29/10. Harry Kane is missing due to injury so Dele Alli is among the market leaders to open the scoring at 4/1.
