Diamanti and Ramirez on the mark for Bologna
Bologna built on their win over Inter Milan with a 2-0 victory over ten-man Fiorentina at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.
Fresh from beating Inter 3-0 last Friday, goals from Alessandro Diamanti and Gaston Ramirez earned another three points.
The match was postponed earlier in the month because of heavy snow, but the latest win lifts Bologna seven points clear of the relegation zone and below their opponents on goal difference alone.
The home side broke the deadlock on the half hour mark when former West Ham forward Diamanti found a way past Artur Boruc at the second attempt after his initial effort was saved by the Fiorentina keeper.
And they doubled their advantage just before the break with a spectacular backheel flick from Gaston Ramirez to stun Boruc.
Fiorentina's problems increased five minutes after the restart when Ruben Olivera was shown a straight red card for appearing to elbow Diamanti.
Bologna had plenty of chances to add to their tally - the best of which saw Boruc turn Nico Pulzetti's strike behind.
