Liam Dickinson made it four goals in two games to inspire Blackpool to a 2-0 win over Charlton.
The loan signing from Derby proved to be the difference in the second half with two quick-fire strikes to pile the misery on struggling Charlton.
The defeat leaves managerless Charlton rooted to the bottom of the table, while Blackpool are climbing well clear of trouble.
Charlton threatened in the 11th minute when Jay McEveley crossed dangerously and striker Andy Gray reacted quickest to fire goalwards with a right-footed shot from six yards.
Blackpool goalkeeper Paul Rachubka made a smart stop and then denied Deon Burton with an excellent tip-over save in the 22nd minute.
Charlton continued to probe and Hameur Bouazza fired narrowly wide from 25 yards in the 24th minute.
Four minutes later, Burton collected possession and thrashed a vicious 20-yard shot goalwards which again forced Rachubka into another impressive stop.
Blackpool finally threatened in the 32nd minute when Joe Martin crossed dangerously and Ben Burgess connected with a firm header from six yards which flew over the crossbar.
Gray then had a shot blocked by Blackpool defender Rob Edwards but Dickinson sprang to life in the 36th minute and came within inches of putting his side ahead.
Lee Hendrie delivered an inswinging corner from the left and Dickinson greeted the ball with a firm header from 12 yards that forced Addicks goalkeeper Nicky Weaver to tip the ball around a post.
Rewarded
Blackpool improved markedly after the break and were rewarded almost immediately as Dickinson fired them ahead within two minutes of the restart.
The impressive Hendrie reached the left-hand byline and crossed to the far post where Dickinson rose highest to plant a firm header past Weaver and into the back of the net.
Hendrie sought to claim a goal for himself eight minutes later when he fired goalwards from 20 yards and Nick Bailey blocked bravely.
Moments later, the points were made secure as Dickinson raced onto an excellent flick from striker partner Burgess.
Dickinson's first shot was expertly repelled by Weaver but the former Manchester City goalkeeper could do nothing to prevent the striker sweeping home the rebound.
Charlton refused to surrender and Bailey's long-range strike forced Rachubka into action.
Substitute Chris Dickson also went close for the Addicks but Blackpool finished strongly and Burgess tried his luck from 30 yards with 10 minutes remaining.
