Athletic Bilbao's disappointing form continued as they were held to a goalless home draw by lowly Las Palmas on Friday evening.

The Basque side have now drawn four of their last five matches while losing the other to Girona, leaving them stuck in the bottom half of the table.

Athletic had the better of the few chances that were created by either side at San Mames, with Inaki Williams unable to make the most of a decent opening late on while Aritz Aduriz went close with a header.

The hosts also saw a superb early effort from Yeray Alvarez ruled out for what appeared to be a debatable offside, the defender having volleyed a free-kick into the top corner.
