Hallam Amos has been released from Wales' autumn Test squad after suffering a shoulder injury.

Amos, who can play on the wing or at full-back, was hurt during Wales' 32-8 defeat against Australia at the Principality Stadium on Saturday.

The 22-year-old, who featured as a second-half substitute against the Wallabies, has returned to the Newport Gwent Dragons for further treatment.

Amos has been replaced by 18-year-old uncapped Ospreys wing Keelan Giles, who has now formally joined the squad after training with the group since the start of the autumn campaign.

Wales skills coach Neil Jenkins feels Giles could be an 'X Factor' player after starring for the U20 side and scoring eight tries in five games for the Ospreys.

He said: "Keelan has got to take his chance with both hands and show the coaches and the players involved what he is all about. He has already done it with the Ospreys, and I am sure he will do that in our environment.

"He has got a little bit of X-factor about him. He is a different player to some of the other guys we've got. I know a lot of people will bring similarities with Shane (Williams) and stuff.

"Keelan is not the biggest of players, but he's electric on his feet and he is brave. We will see how the next couple of weeks go, and you never know."

Wales face Argentina in Cardiff this weekend, when they are expected to be without scrum-half Rhys Webb, who suffered an ankle injury during the Wallabies encounter.

Wales have won just three of their last 12 Tests, and are without a victory since they beat Italy in their final game of last season's Six Nations.
