Alex Goode is eager to return to the England starting XV when they take on Fiji at Twickenham on Saturday.
The Saracens full-back has not featured in an England shirt since the win over Italy back in February and was left out of Eddie Jones' 25-man squad for last week's 37-21 victory over South Africa.
However, the 28-year-old has been retained in the final 25 this week and has been tipped to replace Mike Brown at No 15.
"It would be a dream come true to start," Goode told Sky Sports News HQ.
"I would just be grateful for the opportunity to play and be part of a team that hopefully gets a win.
"We have prepared really well for the Fiji game. We have put a lot of hard work in tactically, mentally and physically and I would just love to be involved."
Goode admits it is hard missing out on the 25-man squad after spending the early part of the week training at the team's Pennyhill Park base in Bagshot, but he accepts that is part of being in the international fold.
"It's a tough part of the job really," he added. "It's difficult but you give your best for this couple of days and it is part of professional sport that there will be highs and lows in selection and you have got to ride them out and keep fighting.
"A big part of that is how you react, how you go back and try and improve and get better, and certainly with Eddie he wants to see a reaction when you play for your club at the weekend.
"That's what you want to do, you want to go back to your club, you want to put your best foot forward and work hard."
