Hull FC playmaker Jordan Abdull will move across the city and down a division in 2017 after agreeing a season-long loan deal with Hull KR.

The 20-year-old, who has made 19 senior appearances for the Black and Whites, will link up with former Huddersfield scrum-half Jamie Ellis under new Rovers coach Tim Sheens, helping fill the void created by the departure of Terry Campese and Albert Kelly in the wake of the club's relegation from Super League.

Hull FC coach Lee Radford said: "I think it's a great opportunity for Jordan to go out and get a team around the field on a weekly basis.

"With the competition for places we have at the moment, the assurance of him being able to do that with us isn't there.

"The opportunity to go out there with Hull KR, make some mistakes on the  field, learn how to deal with those and correct them week-in week-out will be invaluable for his long-term development.
