Political Intrigue is progressing nicely and he can land this tricky handicap from Sunday Symphony and Clueless. Richard Hughes rode this colt with the utmost confidence on his handicap debut. He was cruising all the way round and at the furlong pole was five lengths clear. He was eased down in the last hundred yards and in the end the winning margin was just a length. He was obviously value for much more and there should be plenty more to come. Sunday Symphony possibly found the mile and six testing his stamina last time, and is better judged on his previous outing when second to Ski Jump over course and distance. He should go close here despite top-weight. Clueless has always been held in high regard by connections and lost his maiden tag at Newmarket last time. As with the selection there is scope for more improvement and he looks a threat to all. In a wide open contest Red Peony and Front Stage can also take a hand in the finish, but on this occasion we will have to give a narrow vote to Political Intrigue.
