A small but select field for this group three event and we will give the vote to Maraahel, Andean and Mullins Bay should prove to be tough opponents. Sir Michael Stoute's four-year-old landed a similar contest at Chester's May meeting and has since performed with credit in much better company. He was only beaten half a length by Electrocutionist in the Juddmonte earlier this month and a repeat of that effort should easily be good enough to land this event. Andean has a bit to find on official ratings but is going in the right direction judging by his recent victory at Newmarket. With more improvement expected he should make his presence felt. Mullins Bay landed the John Smith's Cup here with the minimum of fuss and this step up in class shouldn't be a problem. As with Andean he has a bit to find on official figures but he does have plenty of potential. Democratic Deficit has contested some top events and shouldn't be underestimated, but Maraahel has the proven class in group company and gets the decision.
