Trimlestown has slipped to what is a very attractive mark of 68 and despite this being his first attempt at six furlongs. Up with the pace for most of the journey over seven at this venue last time, he weakened inside the last furlong, possibly owing to the testing conditions. That was a better effort to those which he posted in his outings prior to that. Methaaly is 3lb wrong at the weights as he carries a 12lb penalty for two recent victories. He is versatile with regard to his best trips and should be thereabouts but this venue in recent months has favoured those on the pace and brings about reservations where this hold-up performer is concerned. Jonny Ebeneezer showed he retains some of his old sparkle when second at Lingfield while Poppy's Rose could be considered unlucky last time when not enjoying the clearest of passages. Trimlestown is selected to land it.
