Verdict

A winner over this trip at Cork on her reappearance, Rosscarbery was three lengths behind Stay Alert in the Pretty Polly at the Curragh subsequently but then found only Emily Dickenson too good back over a longer distance in the Curragh Cup. Free Wind boasts a terrific strike-rate and won the Group 2 Middleton here on her reappearance. She hasn’t quite run up to that form since, however. Jim Crowley gave Al Husn a superb ride to confirm Newcastle running with Nashwa in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood but this is her first run over 1m4f, though she is a half-sister to the stable’s Moshaawer who stayed 1m6f. Poptronic is improving and can confirm latest Haydock running with Sea Silk Road but Aidan O’Brien won this with a three-year-old in both 2020 and 2021 and saddles two this year. After finishing second to Soul Sister in the Epsom Oaks, SAVETHELASTDANCE went one better in the Irish Oaks beating Bluestocking a length with Warm Heart fifth – she is the choice of Ryan Moore again. Novakai’s win at Newmarket will have boosted confidence but she may fall just short at this level.
