Lauded was due to run in the 2.45 here yesterday. BEN MACDUI couldn’t repel the late thrust of Steel Bull in the Molecomb at Goodwood but there was clear daylight to the rest and Kevin Ryan’s gelding can get back to winning ways here. Acklam Express showed a fine turn of foot to win a nursery at Goodwood, with Winter Power a well-beaten odds-on favourite, and is worth a try at this level, but Macho Pride disappointed at Sandown after his fifth in the Norfolk Stakes. Politics and Blackberry are unexposed but will need to improve markedly to win this.
