A really tough end to proceedings as a few of these appear to be on the upgrade. An 8lb rise in the weights may be too much for Maven while Kalk Bay carries a penalty for last week's success at Beverley, though did it easily that day. Faster ground appears the key to SIR JOHN HAWKWOOD as he bolted up at Newmarket 11 days ago, despite meeting trouble in running. This is very competitive but Sir Michael Stoute's three-year-old may well be a group performer in the making and is fancied to make it three out of three today over this trip. Start Right and Spanish Duke are both potentially well treated but are a little quirky and the latter's yard has endured a miserable summer while Ottoman Empire has never won on Turf. Danadana has but is weighted to the hilt now and more interesting is Newmarket winner Hajras with Van Der Art yet to prove she stays this far.
