A tough handicap to start proceedings but STARGAZER should be thereabouts if a high draw doesn't prove a disadvantage. Sir Michael Stoute's colt looked an unlucky loser at Goodwood and is only 3lb higher – he won on rain-softened ground at Sandown in the spring so there are no going concerns. Any ease in conditions will give hope to supporters of Newmarket third Awake My Soul, who was fourth over track and trip in May, but Fallen For A Star has only won on the all-weather so far. Scarlet Dragon, successful twice at Newbury before finishing fourth at Goodwood, goes on the short-list and Sennockian Star is showing signs of a revival while Dark Red was in terrific form in the spring. But this may be too far for Stipulate while Snoano is better over 1m4f.
