TASTAHIL is a speculative selection in the finale on day one. Love Galore and Rose Street are other interesting contenders, while Allied Powers will handle the ground and is also capable of playing a strong hand. The last named has shot up the ratings this season after a successful spell and is now beginning to look vulnerable. Rose Street is open to plenty of improvement and as his yard have been in flying form the daughter of Noverre makes plenty of appeal. She does need to step things up a few notches though. Love Galore is yet to race on ground this testing but his pedigree suggests he should be able to cope. As a hold-up horse he will need the breaks in running. However, a position in stall two does him no harm and with Johnny Murtagh doing the steering a bold effort can be anticipated from the Mark Johnston-trained colt. However, Tastahil is another lightly-raced colt whose best days are in front of him. Barry Hill's charge has vital experience of the Knavesmire and is forwarded as a decent betting proposition.
