Via Serendipity is better on the all-weather but can race off a lower mark on this surface and ran well at Sandown last time while Star Shield has been thereabouts in this grade recently though will need some luck in-running if he’s held-up for his usual late challenge. The latter comment also applies to the unexposed Strait Of Hormuz, who has been raised 6lb for winning at Haydock and ALFRED BOUCHER is preferred. The latter attempted to make all when only fourth in a tougher race at Newmarket last time but could make a bold bid from the front today with an apprentice’s allowance helping his cause. Thirsk winner Swiss Knight is upped in class along with Little Jo and Jalaad though the latter may improve for first-time headgear.
