Without A Trace can benefit from the drop back in trip to land this Listed prize, with Natalie Jane, Fearless Spirit and Kastoria just three worthy rivals. Three-year-olds traditionally rule the roost in the Galtres Stakes, and on the evidence so far this term, Without A Trace looks the best of them here. Ed Dunlop's filly completed a hat-trick of wins earlier in the season before finishing second to Tartouche in Group 3 company on soft ground at Goodwood last time, form on which she holds three of today's rivals including Asawer. The shorter trip and faster ground will help her cause and she can gain her biggest success to date. Her main rival appears to be Natalie Jane, third to Playful Act in the Lancashire Oaks and second to Punctilious in a Listed race at Newbury. Her trainer won this four years ago with Inchiri and she is sure to be well prepared. Fearless Spirit hails from a very much in-form stable and lines up on the back of an easy win at Chepstow, but this is a major step up in class, while of the four-year-olds, Kastoria makes most appeal, having just been touched off by Mona Lisa at Cork. Without A Trace can sink her rivals here though, with everything in her favour.
