Be Kool is 10lb higher than when winning this 12 months ago so looks to have it all to do this year. David O’Meara and Mick Easterby both saddle three runners. There may not be much to choose between any of the former’s trio, though Danny Tudhope sticks with Ayr winner Hajjam. The latter’s Magic City and Imperial State finished 1-2 in an amateurs’ contest over track and trip last month but Harrison Shaw’s mount is better drawn today. Kaeso knows where the winning post is and last year’s third Classic Seniority is a previous course and distance winner who has been running better than his form figures would suggest. Donncha usually runs in better races than this but, at the opposite end of the handicap, THE GREAT WALL (NAP) makes more appeal. Brought over from Ireland in the autumn, he won an all-weather maiden by 19 lengths on his UK debut. Badly hampered at Wolverhampton last time, he’s 5lb lower back on Turf and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa suggests local connections mean business.
