Verdict

Despite topweight Andaleep will be hard to keep out of the picture as he's more than useful at this level of competition and arrives in good heart after a competitive runner-up effort at Goodwood. Bleak is likely to prove popular in the market mainly due to his connections as he only landed a restricted novice to break his maiden at Lingfield on the Turf last month. This should prove a more accurate indicator of his ability, but he does command respect as an unexposed handicap debutant. Shimmering Sands needs to regroup from a disappointing run last time, but EL JASOR looks to supplement a much-improved effort in landing a decent Redcar handicap. It was a good performance to beat Perfect Play who has run very well since and the Fellowes colt looks nicely treated on just a fifth career start.
