Verdict

FENCING seems sure to add another success to his already consistent profile sooner or later and, now the ground has dried up, he's taken to land a third success. Both career wins have arrived on good ground and his assured stamina at this trip just affords him preference over Lockwood, who has done all his winning over 6f and 7f. In contrast, the selection has been campaigning with admirable consistency for the Gosden team this term over a mile or more in pattern company. Guest of Honour looked sure to benefit from a perfectly decent reappearance run behind Graphic but Custom Cut will not be best suited by drying conditions while stablemate and course specialist Dutch Rose faces her toughest assignment to date. Cordite is obviously well thought of by shrewd connections and adds spice to an interesting affair.
