STRADIVARIUS is 5-5 around here and won this in 2018 and 2019. He goes well fresh so fitness is unlikely to be an issue and a 3lb penalty will make little difference if he is at his best. However, he’s not getting any younger and doesn’t have much in hand at the weights over Dermot Weld’s mare Search For A Song, who is a Group 1 winner herself and will be all the better for a pipe-opener at Navan. Thunderous made Hamish work hard for victory in last week’s Ormonde Stakes but was earlier well behind Max Vega in the John Porter at Newbury. Ralph Beckett’s charge has a bit to find on these terms but is consistently underestimated. Tashkhan was a progressive stayer last terms but may find conditions too quick.
